###### (This is the legacy documentation for SDL2, the previous stable version; [SDL3](https://wiki.libsdl.org/SDL3/) is the current stable version.) # SDL_AudioInit Use this function to initialize a particular audio driver. ## Header File Defined in [SDL_audio.h](https://github.com/libsdl-org/SDL/blob/SDL2/include/SDL_audio.h) ## Syntax ```c int SDL_AudioInit(const char *driver_name); ``` ## Function Parameters | | | | | ------------ | --------------- | ------------------------------------- | | const char * | **driver_name** | the name of the desired audio driver. | ## Return Value (int) Returns 0 on success or a negative error code on failure; call [SDL_GetError](SDL_GetError)() for more information. ## Remarks This function is used internally, and should not be used unless you have a specific need to designate the audio driver you want to use.
