# SDL_HapticEffectSupported

Check to see if an effect is supported by a haptic device.

## Syntax

```c
int SDL_HapticEffectSupported(SDL_Haptic * haptic,
                              SDL_HapticEffect *
                              effect);
```

## Function Parameters

| [SDL_Haptic](SDL_Haptic) *             | **haptic** | the [SDL_Haptic](SDL_Haptic) device to query. |
| [SDL_HapticEffect](SDL_HapticEffect) * | **effect** | the desired effect to query.                  |

## Return Value

(int) Returns [SDL_TRUE](SDL_TRUE) if effect is supported,
[SDL_FALSE](SDL_FALSE) if it isn't, or a negative error code on failure;
call [SDL_GetError](SDL_GetError)() for more information.

## Version

This function is available since SDL 2.0.0.
