###### (This is the legacy documentation for stable SDL2, the current stable version; [SDL3](https://wiki.libsdl.org/SDL3/) is the current development version.) # SDL_Metal_CreateView Create a CAMetalLayer-backed NSView/UIView and attach it to the specified window. ## Header File Defined in [SDL_metal.h](https://github.com/libsdl-org/SDL/blob/SDL2/include/SDL_metal.h) ## Syntax ```c SDL_MetalView SDL_Metal_CreateView(SDL_Window * window); ``` ## Remarks On macOS, this does *not* associate a MTLDevice with the CAMetalLayer on its own. It is up to user code to do that. The returned handle can be casted directly to a NSView or UIView.
